Abstract: Structural Equation Modeling is a statistical approach to testing hypotheses about the relationships among observed and latent variables. Observed variables are also called indicator variables or manifest variables. Latent variables also denoted unobserved variables or factors. The process of testing a Structural Equation Model (SEM) is related to the measurement and structural models. The measurement model may be developed based on theory and then tested with Confirmatory Factor Analysis (CFA) tests measurement theory based on the covariance between all measured items. The goal of measurement theory is to create ways of measuring concepts in a reliable and valid manner. Measurement theories are examined by how well the indicator variables of theoretical constructs relate to one another. The relationships between the indicators are captured in a covariance matrix. CFA tests measurement theory by providing Testing Structural Equations Models evidence on the validity of individual measures based on the model’s overall fit and other evidence of construct validity.
